Sir Kenneth Preston 2026 - Race Report
The latest round of the Cowes Etchells season delivered six competitive races and tight racing throughout the fleet, with Tango emerging victorious after an exceptionally consistent regatta. Chris Hampton’s team recorded a superb scoreline of 3,1,1,1,1,2 to finish on just six points overall.
Louise Racing, sailed by Ted Blowers, finished second overall and claimed Top Youth Boat honours. After a difficult third race, the team bounced back strongly with a 2,2,1 finish to the regatta to secure second place.
ADA completed the podium in third overall, with David Maclean’s crew putting together one of the most consistent series in the fleet to finish on 16 points.
Knot on Call narrowly missed the podium in fourth overall but took Top Corinthian Boat honours after a strong recovery from the opening race, posting a string of top-four finishes across the series.
Elsewhere, Ariel rounded out the top five, while Rocketman, Exabyte and Palaver all showed flashes of strong pace despite carrying costly high scores and penalties during the regatta.
With six races completed and plenty of position changes throughout the fleet, the event once again highlighted the depth and competitiveness of the Cowes Etchells fleet.
Louise Racing now leads the 2026 Cowes International Series standings after two rounds, combining victory at the Bedrock Trophy with a strong second place finish at the Sir Kenneth Preston Trophy to sit on just three points overall.
Exabyte moves into second overall on nine points, while ADA climbs into third on 11 points following a consistent podium performance this weekend.
Onto the Etchells National Championships in June!
